Each piece of Loïc Therrien's crystalline pottery is unique, especially because of his unique glazing technique. This technique is as rare as it is difficult and takes years to master: The firing is done in two stages and requires the use of zinc oxide, which promotes the crystallization of silica during its re-solidification.
He himself is surprised and amazed every time he leaves the kiln!
