Small Raku Teacup, Music

Regular price $28.00
This is a perfect little teacup to give as a gift to a music lover. Entirely handmade in Montreal, offer it as a set with the raku ceramic teapot and the mini Music bowl, from the same collection
This piece is a creation of Marie-Christine Lété, a Montreal ceramist. Passionate about sculpture, she also produces small series of pieces made on the wheel and fired in raku. Mainly decorative, but also utilitarian, they are neither dishwasher nor microwave safe.
Raku, which means joy and pleasure in Japanese, was, at the time, intimately linked to Zen philosophy and the tea ceremony. This technique, although controlled, gives a unique result for each piece, with the most exciting random effects.
