Ceramist
Marie-France Labrosse
Marie-France has always been strongly inspired by nature and its balance of opposites. This is what she tries to reproduce in her work, juxtaposing skill and simplicity, colour and subtlety, stability and movement. She likes to add elegance and refinement to the objects we use every day. For Marie-France, clay is a fascinating material to discover as it transforms from its initial plasticity and flexibility to its rigidity and firmness once fired.
Her work is characterized by delicate and organic forms that she throws or models. She uses porcelain and plays with various textures. She applies muted, soft and moving colours, giving strength to the structure while at the same time recalling the fragility of the earth.
